I would recommend Jordan as a personal trainer as he has significantly helped me improve in both Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Jordan’s enthusiasm for helping people improve to achieve their goals and for martial arts in general is contagious. In karate I was struggling for confidence in the run up to a black belt grading and so arranged some personal training sessions with Jordan for a few weeks. He not only provided practical support in improving the details of the Kata and basics but also helped me stay motivated with a positive mindset. He was very professional and provided notes I could take home and work on for the next session and I was able to successfully achieve the goal of becoming a black belt.
Once I achieved a karate black belt, I was looking for a new challenge and so I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I found the learning curve very steep — it was intimidating being one of the few women, smaller, lighter, (possibly older) and totally inexperienced, and when it came to the rolling (sparring) my mind would go blank and I felt like I wasn’t making any progress. I engaged Jordan for about 3 to 6 months of personal training which really increased my confidence.
Jordan was able to explain the basics in a way I could understand and at my pace. He was endlessly patient with my many questions and happy for me to go over things numerous times until I could recall what to do under pressure. I was soon able to put some moves together to the extent I was able to transition between the basic positions and even make my first submission. Through his personal training I was able to accelerate my learning and improve my confidence to the point where I was happy that I could keep up with the main classes and looked forward to the sessions without reservation.
